Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is a mercurial singer and composer who weds Soul gospel Jazz and R&B with a distinctive mix. She's performed on Broadway, at the Democratic National Convention and in clubs and festivals throughout Europe. Sunshine's real title is Denise White. While she now lives in Atlanta the place she was raised is Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical path began at church, where she sang and played piano. In Atlanta she went to Spellman College where her musical education began in Atlanta's R&B Scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single featuring her voice was called Stalk You A house 12 released only in Japan and has been remixed since by numerous producers and is a staple of her live set. The singer has also provided her singing on The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. In 2005, she became the keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. In 2007 Grammy and Tony award-winning singer Jennifer Holliday sought her out to serve as the director of the choir for the stage production of Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine was recognized nationally for her daily shows in 2008 at the Democratic National Convention. She was then invited to perform in the Obama administration's 2009 inauguration.
